Tips for the jeweler:

  • To create both a support and a cover-all for the behind-the-scenes work of your crown, trace the outer edges of the tiara you cut from the Artiste cartridge onto Confetti Wishes B&T paper, trim, and adhere behind the original. Use Shimmer Trim to fill in select negative spaces if desired. Trace a second crown shape to place on the back of the entire centerpiece once you’ve finished.
  • After you pleat each of the yo-yos, adhere them to a small square of cardstock to make it easier to attach them to the base.
  • To create a headband for the centerpiece, cut two 1 ½” tall strips at a length that will fit the head of your royal guest of honor. Attach them to the centerpiece and adhere the ends together when it’s time to fit the crown.
  • To create the fashionably distressed embossed swirls, use a sponge dauber to get just the right silvery look.
  • You can make your sparkles match whatever color scheme you end up using! Just use ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ markers to color the sparkles.
  • Use both thin and regular 3-D foam tape to create differing dimensions on your crown.

Tips for the jeweler:

  • Download this free crown pattern. Trace it onto the birthday hat cut from the Cricut® Artiste cartridge and then cut the crown shape from the birthday hat to create a crown bedazzled with star shapes. Back with your choice of B&T paper.
  • Trace your main crown shape again, this time onto B&T paper. Set it aside and save it for the end of your project, when you will attach it to the back of the entire centerpiece to cover all of the behind-the-scenes work of your crown.
  • To create a headband for the centerpiece, cut two 1 ½” tall strips at a length that will fit the head of your royal king or queen. Attach the strips to the centerpiece and adhere the ends together when it’s time to fit the crown.
  • After you cut the overlay from the Cricut® Artbooking cartridge, use the negative chevron strips to blast the planets and other space paraphernalia into outer space. Or should we say outer crown? 😉
  • Wondering how to get those out-of-this-world waves that you see on Saturn? The magic comes from the Jumping Geometrics stamp set (D1637). Use a sponge dauber on the ring to create an embossed, star-dusted gleam.
  • Use both thin and regular 3-D foam tape to create differing dimensions on your crown.

We hope your little ones enjoy being royalty for a day! Be sure to give them an extra dramatic bow of honor, just from us.
